Student Problem #2

Given: cosu = -5/13 (3rd quadrant) & sinv = 15/17 (1st quadrant). Find sin(u+v) and tan(u-v).

*on the left side I meant to put "left and down = negative" not left and right..

What is this problem about?
This problem is about using the sum and difference formulas when given values for right triangles. You are given two values of sin/cos/tan and plugging it into the sum and difference formulas.

What must the reader pay close attention to in order to not make a mistake?
The reader must pay close attention to drawing their triangle correctly. They must make sure it fits the quadrant. They also must make sure the signs are all correct and fits ASTC depending on which quadrant it is. They also must make sure to utilize the sum/difference formulas correctly (simplifying/multiplying fractions)..
